Starwood Hotels Marriott purchase by 12,200 million (11,320.1 million euros) and won the bid to the Hyatt hotel chain, which was already well advanced in negotiations, and the Chinese HNA, the conglomerate owned a 29, 5% of the capital of the Spanish NH Hotel Group.

According to market sources, two other Asian chains were interested in buying Starwood, which owns brands such as W, Westin and St. Regis. These firms now coexist with the Marriott brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Fairfield Inn or Marriott Courtyard, among others.

This operation, which is expected to close in mid-2016, will result in the largest hotel chain in the world with 5,500 stores that will add more than 1 million rooms in more than hundred countries. Also their joint income may be around 3,000 million dollars (2,700 million euros)
